In various press releases, our partner Johns Manville informs about his new fibers for thermoplast reinforcement.

Our partner Johns Manville has introduced a new chopped strand called ThermoFlow® 600+ for PBT/PET reinforcement.
ThermoFlow® 600+ Chopped Strands are designed to provide superior as-molded mechanical performance in PBT/PET as well as improved flow performance for complex shapes especially used in electronics. An improved color performance after aging also enables compounders to increase the use of PBT engineered thermoplastics in consumer applications.

Moreover the roving StarRov® 853 roving for LFT reinforcement
is now also available in Europe in 1200 and 2400 tex.
StarRov® 853 roving is designed for reinforcement in structural engineered thermoplastics, such as tapes and LFT (Long-Fiber Thermoplastics) where high heat performance is required.

Johns Manville (JM) reports furthermore that its plant in Slovakia has received GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification for its continuous filament glass fiber (CFGF) used in contact with food in engineered thermoplastic applications, according to EU regulation 10/2011.
The certification was granted by the certification body TÜV SÜD Slovakia. This certification is the first to be granted to a European CFGF manufacturer.
JM has developed a range of CFGF grades for various engineered thermoplastics intended to come into contact with food, including ThermoFlow 674 chopped strands designed for PA and high-heat polymer reinforcements, ThermoFlow 636 and StarRov 490 for PP and ThermoFlow 601 for PBT/PET.
