Applications

Nearly in all fields we can find products made out of different raw- materials. Besides the chemical harmony also factors like size, density, state of aggregation etc. have to be unified, so that a homogenous product develops.

This is all the more important as finer the final product should be. Coatings, pastes and fillers are out of insoluble fine pigment- and powder particles. To homogenize the different units the raw materials will be dispersed in ball- and pearl mills.

Here the mechanical energy will be remitted to the dispersing goods about the grinding media. The twisting- and shearing- movements of the balls are "breaking" the particles into finer pieces, and so are neutralizing the chemical attraction and removing the air on the surface, so that the fixing agents are distributed constantly. So a stable suspension with a balanced distribution of the single components arises.

For lots of applications like paint and varnish, paper- and electronic coating, pigments and active substances for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products or foods, coatings- and filler masses we have available the suitable grinding media.

  • Ceramic
    • Ceramic pearls fulfil the requirements for high grinding efficiency with short grinding time, more fineness, - also at the nanoscale - low abrasion and avoidance of impurity of the material to be ground in an optimal way. Whenever mixing effects and disperse are playing an important role, they convince with shock resistance and low wear.
  • Glass
    • Glass beads are successfully used as grinding media for bubblers. In a perfected technique the pearls are produced absolutely round. They are extremely elastic, lead-free and made out of chemical neutral glass. Due to their absolute food stuff- and colour fastness they enable universal applications in nearly all grinding mills.
  • Steel
    • The high specific density is an ideal component for the grinding beads. Decisive for the use of steel balls is the material to be ground and its use purpose. They are also used in medicine and at aggressive media like acids and bases.
